High impact actions for nursing and midwifery
High impact actions for nursing and midwifery
A group of experienced nurses and midwives posted 600 submissions over three weeks identifying high impact actions that have the potential to not only transform the care patients receive, but to also reduce costs. Eight high impact actions were announced at the Chief Nursing Officer's conference in 2009. These were: your skin matters (pressure ulcers); staying safe - preventing falls; keeping nourished - getting better; promoting normal birth; important choices - where to die when the time comes; fit and well to care; ready to go - no delays and protect from infection.
