'From ward to board : identifying good practice in the business of caring' was published by the King's Fund in 2009. NHS boards must engage with the quality of clinical care as well as dealing with financial performance. This programme of work was developed by The King's Fund, in partnership with the Burdett Trust for Nursing. It focuses on the role of nurse executives in helping boards to assure themselves of the quality of clinical care.
