Virtual training suite : internet for nursing

Released in July 2009, 'Internet for Nursing' is one of a number of free online tutorials from Intute's Virtual Training Suite. The tutorials aim to help university students develop Internet research skills to assist with their university coursework and assignments. This tutorial is divided into four main sections: 'Tour' (covering some of the key nursing information sources on the Internet); 'Discover' (covering how to find scholarly information online); 'Judge' (covering which internet resources are appropriate for university work); and 'Success' (which gives examples of nursing students using the Internet for research). The tutorial has interactive features including quizzes, practical exercises, and a 'links basket' which alllows the user to keep a record of all the websites mentioned in the tutorial. The whole tutorial takes around one hour to complete, but allows the user to work through the material in their own time and at their own pace.
